4Great Juicer, Heavy Duty, Lifetime warranty, Good with Lemons Oranges, Small Grapefruit
By P. Langenfeld
This mid-sized Orange-X juicer is a well designed heavy duty juicer that should last a lifetime. It is easy to use and clean and it is powerful enough to be used both commercially and at home. Some may quibble over whether one juicer is better for oranges or lemons. From reading reviews, one that may be a little better for lemons, or grapefruit probably doesn't do as well with oranges etc due to only one strainer cup size being available. This very heavy duty juicer did a great job for me with lemons, oranges, and small grapefruit. It seems to be optimized for oranges though. However, I use it primarily for lemons and have had no problems except a very tiny bit of the lemon left on the side. I feel the claims about it not working well with lemons are grossly exaggerated and inaccurate. This juicer has a stainless steel juicing strainer and cup, so the health conscious have no need to worry about aluminum being leached into the acidic juice.Contrary to what one reviewer said, you cannot hurt your fingers using this juicer as long as you put your hand on the rubber handle (it is hard to use otherwise). The handle has a nice well calibrated stoper at the bottom that keeps you from damaging the unit by over extending when pushing down and still squeezes all the juice out well. The lower push range offers superior leverage over the juicers that have a spring and leave the handle up as you start and end from a higher position with them. (However, either way, it is not going to be hard to juice with this or other heavy duty juicers such as the Hamilton Beach regardless of handle position). The only thing I don't like about this juicer is that if you leave the handle up and try to move it, the heavy handle will fall easily and it could hit you on the head or face if you are bending over or short. It is particularly easy to have the handle fall since the suction cup feet make it a little difficult to move around and you have to pull and yank on it a bit to get it to move. I bought some standard 4mm screw on bolts and some nice non-marking rubber feet called bumpers (screw, rubber) at Ace hardware for a few dollars that fit perfect into the holes for the screw off suction cups that came with the juicer. My guess is the suction feet were meant primarily to help in a commercial environment where you always kept the juicer in the exact same position and didn't pull the juicer out then push it back on the counter when done like you might do at home. The juicer is so heavy, that even with these new non-suction non-marking rubber feet it doesn't move at all during routine juicing.Overall, this is a very heavy duty well made and designed juicer and I recommend it for home or commercial use (it is still quit large though called mid-sized). If it were not for the annoying rubber suction cup feet that it came with (and I easily replaced) I would have given it a five star rating. See my full review and explanations under this same mid-sized Orange-X juicer that Amazon itself sends out.

4Jupiter versus Hamilton Beach
By Cabrini Deb
If you've done your homework, you are likely deciding between the Jupiter and the Hamilton Beach. Both of them will last a lifetime. They are both sturdy and neither will try to tip over on you as you exert pressure on the handle. Your choice will be personal preference. If you're going to be spending hours pressing juice or you don't have much pressing strength, go with the Hamilton Beach. It's easiest to press. But know that the Hamilton Beach, because it doesn't press the heck out of the fruit, makes more watery juice. The Jupiter presses more firmly on the fruit, which means that although it requires a little more muscle, you can get some pulp in the strainer, which you can throw in with the juice. Me, I like a little pulp. Additionally, the Jupiter fits under your kitchen cabinets, which the Hamilton Beach does not. Bear in mind that these juicers are heavy enough that you want to lift them and move them as little as possible. The Jupiter comes with suction cup feet, so to move it, you have to lift it just a little, but these are replaceable with non-suction feet from any hardware store. I refuse to start my day with a noisy juice machine and quite enjoy my Jupiter juice press.

5Bulky, but works great
By A. Northrop
I've owned this juicer for over 5 years and it works like a charm for extracting juice from large quantities of limes, lemons or oranges. It is heavy and solidly built, and the lever action runs right through the center of the juicer so no problems with tipping. Not much effort required to get the handle all the way down, which extracts all the juice. If you want to get every last drop, rotate the fruit 1/4 turn and press again, but you get about 95% on the first squeeze. The only down side is the that it is large, heavy and bulky. It would be best if you have the counter space to leave it out all the time. I don't, so it probably gets less use than it otherwise would as I have to haul it out of the cupboard every time. It might work well in an appliance garage too.

2Don't waste your cash.
By j
After using this juicer I have concluded that there it is too much of a hassle to bother using. I am sending it back and trying a different brand. It does juice, but doesn't extract as much juice from the pulp as other juicers that I have seen for sale for less money. It spits juice out of the front whenever you are juicing. It is made of many parts, which I don't like, because it is over complicated in its design, which I think is due to the fact that the company was trying to rack up design patents. I think that simpler is better in most cases. The motor stalled while I was juicing a carrot. My girlfriend's juicer was half of the price and has never had an issue with a carrot.

5Less known but far superior product over 800JEXL
By Nish
Dual disc juicer when compared to 800JEXL is superior in features in many ways. Just to list a few1) Motor is 1200 watts against 1000 watts in 800JEXL2) Rotary speed dial with speeds 1 to 5- Higher for harder fruits & vegetables compared to flip switch achieving two speeds in 800JEXL3) Ability to make soft fruit smoothies in dual disc in addition to juicing anything4) 3.5" dia feeder compared to 3" in 800JEXL.I use it daily for vegetable juice on week days and fruit smoothies on weekends.I use those vegetables in juicing which otherwise I generally donot eat.For exampleOne large tomato, two stems of celery, one large carrot, half lime or lemon and a small piece of gingerWith lime, I donot need to add salt. With this pure juice, I have stopped taking V8 juice. For week end, I use smoothies made from banana & seasonal fruits like berries and non fat milk and if needed, I add mango pulp.Very fast in juicing and very easy to clean even during week day before work.

5LOVE this thing!
By Ray Stark
My wife and I are "first time juicers"- Why didn't I try this years ago? :)I wanted a well-made, high quality juicer that was easy to clean and did the job well. I didn't want a marginal unit I'd have to trade up from. (Hint from others: Buy a good one the first time.)This model Breville works VERY well. Thorough clean-up and drying takes five minutes max and assembly and dis-assembly is cake: Pop the big chrome bail arm 90 degrees and the top shroud comes off, revealing the cutter assembly and stainless juicer shroud. All pop loose and wash easily. After rinsing, I wipe the parts down with a dish towel and leave them sitting on a Sham-wow to dry while I enjoy my juice. My wife finds it easy to use and juicing up a huge mound of veggies and fruits takes maybe a minute once the items are ready to go. My wife thinks it's actually fun to use this machine. Me too.The motor hardly sags under even the hardest fruits (green apple seems to be the tougher of the fruits we have tried) but, when it does, the speed sensing circuitry adds power to the motor to keep it at the set speed. The speed control knob is an infinitely variable type. Most of what we do works very well on low speed. The motor assembly is nicely heavy and this adds considerable stability when juicing harder fruits and veggies. (The last small piece of an item may slide under the juicer shroud and into the basket which momentarily puts the basket out of balance. That is normal.) The weight of the machine never makes the unit "wobbly" or unstable. Yet, the machine is not too heavy for my wife to move around the counter easily. (Comments about the gap between the chute and basket edge are not exactly correct. You have to have a space between the chute and the basket/grinder to allow ground material to exit the grinding process and pass into the basket where the juice is extracted. We have found the number of large pieces in the waste bucket few and far between.)The plastic parts are extremely well made and heavy duty. The clear lid is thick and strong. The waste bucket fits nicely under the lid, holding it in place so you never get "veggie parts" flying around your kitchen. This model comes with a nice clear juice pitcher (not pictured in the web pic) that nestles under the angled juice spout (tube). As one rater above recommended, "Just buy this one and you will love it." I did and I sure do. Haven't tried the other cutter head for smoothies yet but it's so easy to change heads.Again, if you can swing this model, buy in confidence. This thing is heirloom quality and will work for decades. The quality work on the stainless juicing shroud alone is a work of art (for techno geeks).(I am a tech and tool guy who appreciates the quality of a nicely designed and manufactured tool. I have been a wood worker for 40 years, using all types of power tools and machinery. But, even if you aren't, you'll find this device easy and fun to use. My wife enjoys using it and finds it easy to operate and clean.)

5Truly comercial grade, fantastic product
By CRP Ag
In today's world, the term "commercial grade" is tossed around very casually. Often it's just a marketing tool to make you think an item is built to a higher standard than it acutally is. However, in this case, even though Breville does not use the words, I could think of no better term to describe this beast. You know you have a real product here when you take it out of the box. It's HEAVY. Not ridiculously heavy, not too heavy to move, just sturdy and well made. When you turn it on, you can hear and almost feel the power this device is going to bring to the task at hand. The juice this makes is great, you can control the pulp that you get, or don't get.We have owned cheaper juicers in the past, but honestly that is like comparing apple juice and orange juice (pun intended) there is simply no comparison. You will not regret for one moment making this purchase! I recommend this juicer without hesitation or reservation.

5Excellent juicer, very happy with purchase.
By Bearhug78
First things first, I got the vert352 which is simply the 220v version of the vert 350. I'm in Australia and it works wonderfully here (it comes with the euro double round pin plug, so you do need to get an adapter for about $10 to be able to plug into the Australia power points, Coles, red dot store, chemist, travel stores etc sell these). It works fine on Australian mains power (the vert350 120v would need a step down adapter for those interested).Ok now for the juicing. This is one excellent juicer. My other half and I just made 2litres of juice with carrots, celery, beet root, apples and oranges. As per some reviews I had read before ordering we mixed up the order we fed the components through, which noticeably helps stop the pulp exit from getting clogged. All the mentioned fruits and veggies fed through fine, however the celery fibres do tend to cause a clogging issue if too long. I would recommend no larger than 1inch lengths, especially if you plan on doing a lot of celery. All other fruits went through marvellously.I had read in some other reviews that people where unhappy with the amount of pulp in the juice. Well this wasn't our experience. It was a lot less pulpy than many of the retail juicing stores in our areas product is. In saying that, our vert came with 2 pulp guards, a fine one and a very fine one (we used the very fine, less pulpy one). As for the ejected pulp it was very dry with not even enough juice left to wet the collection container (obviously indicating a very good juice yield).Noise wise, we were impressed. No one else in the house even realised we had been juicing. Cleaning was also easier than expected. It also takes up no more room than a blender (although some extra room is need for the juice and pulp collectors). All in all we are very happy with this juicer and would gladly recommend it to others.

5amazing juicer
By gmahn
This juicer is awesome. I purchased the 220V model do to the fact that I live overseas, but it is the same juicer as the Omega VRT-350. Slow masticating juicer is the way to go in order to effectively juice both fruits and vegetables, primarily because you avoid oxidation and preserve all the nutrients and vitamins. In addition, juices taste a lot better. I recommend this type of juicer to anyone, you will not regret it.It is also very easy to assemble and to clean, much better than other juicers.Try to find a good deal and you are set.

3This is a Factory Knock-Off of an Omega Vert350 Juicer
By Dussel
Okay I am SO SICK of all these HACK "Amazon VINE" reviews that I am going to spend 20 minutes to tell you the truth. Most of these people are so full of BS, and from their reviews know nothing about juicers. Most Vine reviews makes me lose respect for not only them, but Amazon, they need to change the system to remove the blatant bias and obviousness of reviews (Give me a $400 juicer for free and I will give it 5 stars too - or NOT - truth in honesty prevails). Funny how they all happened to purchase a Breville compact, and now Amazon gives them one of these to try and an epiphany occurs as they're amazed at how this one is so much better. Or maybe, just maybe, they also were given on of those to review as well, noooooo... How would you rate a Free $400 juicer to a non-comparable $99 one.-To the Juicers-First off they are completely different (Compact Centrifugal vs. Vertical Auger). Second off, wonder why it doesn't have the signature Breville loop hole plug, and why every part besides the motor base and juice containers are IDENTICAL to an Omega VERT 350 juicer Omega VRT350 Heavy Duty Dual-Stage Vertical Single Auger Low Speed Juicer, well because that is the only difference, as they are made in the same Chinese factory. Omega Engineer's designed this machine.-How Does it Work-Both have the same pitfalls (Breville and Omega Vertical Masticating), which is you have to chop up vegetables, especially greens like parsley, mint, kale, as well as celery etc. in 1/2" segments as the string fibers will just wrap around base of the auger. So, instead of further compressing your juice, or properly processing other foods you put in after, it will just force the juice and its pulp out the top of the conical screed. The top has much bigger wholes mind you than the ones at the bottom, thereby the auger is not pressing the juice to its maximum potential, and leaving you with an extremely pulpy product. If you are used to a centrifugal get ready for some serious pulp action in your juice. Now the only way to partially solve this is to chop up all the things I listed above, as well as Apples and other large produce as they just plain don't fit whole like they do on a centrifugal, remember thick carrots as they will jam the machine. Once you do all that, and feed the things you are juicing in a methodical order, like some leafy greens, then some hard material like apple, followed by spinach, then some carrot.... etc..... repeating this over and over until all your ingredients are juiced. Then well you will end up with an okay juice with a pretty high yield. However, if you want yield numbers of a centrifugal, especially from harder food items like apples, pineapple, carrots, etc. then you need to break down the machine after running your ingredients through, scrub the filter screed to clear any debris blocking the holes, along with the auger and outer housing, then re-assemble the whole thing and run the pulp back through the machine. Then if you want a smoother juice, more similar but still pulpier, than what you'll get from a centrifugal, you need to either strain through a fine mesh, losing some mass, or once again break down the machine, clean, and re-assemble then run the juice back through it again.-Test-I did a comparison between an Omega VERT 350 (the Breville is a factory Copy of this machine) and a Breville 510XL Variable speed centrifugal (supposedly optimal for lighter/leafy material so that you can slow the RPM's to maximize yield. Anyhow, I weighed equal amounts of Apple, carrot, kale, parsley, cucumber, and celery totaling 1545grams (3.4lbs) for each machine and ran them through using optimal methods. For the Vert I chopped everything up to prevent clogging or fiber wrap, along with alternating ingredients to maximize the compression from the auger; for the Breville centrifugal I used the proper speed settings (between 1-5) for the veg/fruit being juiced, pressed at a very slow even speed down the chute, and for the leafy stuff kept the chute packed so the internal wind created by the spinning screen would not just eject the material to the pulp bin before being shredded by the blades and juiced.-Results-1st Run through the machines starting with 1545grams or 3.4 lbs of fruit/vegetables:--Breville Centifugal - 1205grams 78.0% efficiency--Vertical Auger - 1125grams 72.8% eff.2nd run of the pulp through each machine:--Breville Centifugal - 105grams additional 6.8% extraction--Vertical Auger - 170grams additional 11.0% extractionTotal after 2 runs through the machines:--Breville Centifugal - 1305grams 84.5% Total Efficiency--Vertical Auger - 1295grams 83.8% Total EfficiencySo there you have it. This slow speed auger juicer is 6.4% less efficient than the old style centrifugal model on first pass, and pulls close but still not bettering it, even after spending a 5 minutes to tear down, clean, re-assemble, and juice your pulp.-Other Considerations-Now on to other things that may or may-not matter to you. The foot-print is significantly smaller on the auger style machine than the large centrifugal's, along with all the plastic parts that comprise the machine. Speed, well with a huge chute and high efficiency, the larger centrifugal machine gobbles up whole apples, oranges (peeled), tomatoes, cucumbers, you get the picture, this equates to minimal prep required along with much faster juicing times. Noise, well this should be rather obvious when you're comparing an 80rpm device compared to a 13,500rpm device, the auger style sounds like a slow crusher/cruncher and the centrifugal sounds like a turbine engine ready for take-off. Now the big thing for me, PARTS, while Breville and Omega give you a "supposed" extremely generous 10year warranty on the machine, this however does not apply to all parts considered "wear parts" (i.e. the conical mesh strainers, auger, silicone wipers, wiper cage, etc). A little trip over to Omega's site and you will find the fine mesh conical screed is a whopping $70 to replace (and tends to break after within 1-2yrs if you juice regularly), the Auger is ~$30, this part $20, that part $5 etc.. Basically all that is covered is the motor and base, which being heavy duty and low RPM is not bound to fail within that period; however all the other plastic stuff, not so much. Granted I am talking Omega's warranty policies vs. Breville, but I just don't see it being any different as Breville does not normally offer a 10yr warranty on anything, at least none that I've seen, including the other appliances I own from them.-SUMMARY--Vine Reviewers are modern shills-The Breville is a factory copy of an Omega VERT 350 which can be bought cheaper. (Use one of those 20% off BadBathandBeyond coupons they are always sending)-It's quiet.-LESS Efficient than a good centrifugal unless you want to clean and re-run pulp. (which then pulls it near even)-Takes less counter space and is easier to store.-Has much more pulp than a centrifugal.-No Less foam than a centrifugal.-Has very high replacement parts cost as integral parts are considered wear parts. (not covered under warranty)-Is more expensive than a comparable centrifugal.-Deceptive Warranty

5Works great even with hard foods.
By G. Uhl
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3J43B3ZIZAFF3 I am not an expert on juicing. At all. I am a novice juicer. The only thing I can say to an expert juicer who is reading this review is that this machine is really well built. It juiced everything I put through it. The reverse feature works really well. (see the video)I own both the Breville Compact 200XL ($100) and this Breville Juice Fountain 600XL ($400)This masticating juicer works great and if you can afford it, then it's the best option. However if money is a factor then I would whole heartedly recommend the $100 model that works just as good in all the ways that really matter for a novice. (see the video)It takes me the exact same amount of time to clean up both models. I timed it mutliple times. The 600XL is much much quieter. The 600XL is not being called compact but by juicer standards it does have a pretty small footprint on the counter.I think the 600XL juice tastes better but just by a slight margin over the 200XL.

3Still prefer my $99 Breville BJE200XL better

I bought my Brevelle BJE200XL in 2009 - it is a centrifugal juicer and using it fairly regularly and works pretty so far. Before I get into a detailed review - it is important to understand the different between centrifugal and masticating juicer.A Centrifugal juicer rotates at a very high speed - 13000 rpm to micro cut/scrape the object and centrifugal force forces it to collect into a seperate section. While the masticating juicer crushes the object and filters them and these operate at lower speeds. Here is my feedback on why I like my 4 year old Breville BJE200XL Juicer more than this masticating juicer ?(1) More versatile - It can juice a much more wider variety of stuff.(2) Higher yield - Most of the tests say that masticating juicers have a higher yield, but my 4 year old 200XL got me more juice than the 600XL(3) Easier and simpler - I can juice an whole apple or an orange in a centrifugal juicer, while for the masticating juicer, I have to chop them into multiple pieces so that it can fit into the feeder. There are many theories about cell walls being broken down and heat in the centrifugal juicer - but most of these are unscientific and centrifugal juicers are good enough and infact better than the masticating juicers

Omega VERT VRT350 HD Juicer

Product Description

The Omega Model VRT350 VERT Juicer is a revolutionary product that features the high efficiency of a masticating style juicer in a vertical design. The VERT is designed to be compact, contemporary and productive. A processing speed of 80 rotations per minute prevents the oxidation and degradation of freshly juice product and an oversized spout serves up drinks with style and efficiency.

Most juicers process at a speed of 1,650 to 16,000 RPM, destroying many healthy enzymes and causing juice to degrade shortly after being extracted. The Vert VRT350HD Low Speed Juicing System processes at 80 RPM, preventing oxidation and allowing juice to be stored for up to 72 hours without degradation. With the Vert form and function combine to give you the highest degree of extraction and the healthiest possible juice. The contemporary design is complemented by a virtually indestructible ULTEM juicing screen that will withstand heavy duty juicing. Ideal for fast pace commercial environments, this juicer combines a contemporary styling with the technology to cater to health conscious clientele.

Convenience and Quality in one - Enjoy the convenience of a centrifugal juicer (size, space, ease of cleaning) with the efficiency and high quality juice of a single auger masticating juicer
Low Speed Juicing System - two stage design crushes then squeezes your fruit, vegetables, leafy greens and even soybeans instead of grinding or cutting. This extraction method preserves all of the natural color, taste, nutrients and vitamins of what you are juicing.

Auto Cleaning System - simply pour water through between juicing different fruits, vegetables, leafy greens and more. Save time and effort

GE Ultem Auger with Crushing Ribs at the top support the initial crushing stage of juicing

10 Year Warranty

Includes fine and coarse strainers, two pulp ejection plugs, auto-cleaning brush, two 60 oz. juicing cups with handles, pusher, cleaning brush, and instruction manual

5First Time Juicer
By JaNohn
My husband and I were looking for a juicer. I performed the research, masticating vs. cetrifugal and all that jazz. I was convinced that masticating was the way to go as the goal was to get the most bang for my buck. Juicers are not apples to apples and you need to identify what's important to you. This juicer is relatively easy on the clean up and the food goes in with out using the little pusher. I know, so technical. Anyway - this is my second day juicing and I like to flavor and the texture of the extracted juice. There are two juicing options, more pulp and less pulp. I am excited for the summer. I used the "more pulp" option with mangoes, pineapples, apples and grapes and came up with a really good flavor for an all natural ice pop. Try it. What I'd like to truly get across to the viewers out there is this is not a quick and easy thing. It takes a conscious effort to juice. You should be looking at the quality of the company, the warranty life of the motor and how much juice you're going to get. That is what you're paying for. As of right now, I'm very happy with the juicer. And for those of you with zero counterspace like us, the upright is the way to go. It sits right next to the coffee maker on a very small shelf. This sucker is heavy so it's best if you keep it out. Plus, you should be juicing as many days as possible. I really hope this review was helpful.Good luck and happy juicing!
