Healthy fun for all the family

I've never had a juicer before; I was given this for my birthday, and it's lots of fun! It's surprisingly satisfying just to make different juices, zapping fruits and veggies through this machine, which runs pretty quietly and is v easy to use. The two speed settings are useful for harder or softer items.

I've also found that it's a great way to use up tired veggies - you know the ones you buy to make you feel all virtuous but don't really get round to using? Just zap them and drink them down! Plus almost no preparation, just a little chopping so that they fit, and remove any big stones from things like peaches. The recipes provided range from the delicious to the bizarre, esp the names of some of the drinks - Lung Tonic, anyone? - and it's also fun to experiment, I've found that adding an apple or orange can rescue pretty much everything. Only downside here is you can't do bananas as they'd clog up the machine - I guess I'll need a blender too.

It's also easy to take apart, but a bit of a palaver to clean with four separate parts. Follow their advice and line the pulp collector with a plastic bag, that will save you a lot of time.

An excellent juicer for the price

This is my first juicer, and so far I've been quite happy with it. I've juiced many different things from apples to lemons to pears, kiwi, and strawberries. The juice is quickly, and efficiently separated from the fruit. There is no fear of pulp in your beverage with this baby! At least half of your time using the juicer will be spent cleaning the unit, which isn't that difficult. Most of the parts are dishwasher safe, but I find that spraying them down in the sink to rinse them off works well for the most part. The accompanying book contains many juice "recipes", which can be quite useful, but I've found that experimentation has been the most fun. Overall, I don't think you can find a more comprehensive and convenient juicer for the price.

We were pleansantly surprised by this little juice extractor. Seems to have excellent power; considerably quieter than some other juicers and quite easy to clean and for us....the price was right! We love it and hope to use it most every day.

Absolutely amazing machine!

I've just finished drinking my first glass of carrot juice made with this juicer. I couldn't be more satisfied. First of all it's very easy to assemble, disassemble and wash. I've had two other "under $50" juicers and have had trouble getting the stainless steel baskets in and out and remembering what order to assemble it - with this one it was a breeze. Carrots are one of the harder textured food to juice. This machine was so quick and powerful I couldn't believe it, it took seconds!!!! I can't attest to whether it will continue to work, but for function and ease of use you can't beat it. It also does a good job of extracting all the juice out - the pulp was very dry.Would recommend it if it were five times the price - I've never seen a juicer so inexpensive. This is the machine to buy if you've considered juicing, but were hesitant to invest the money. Also, makes a great additional juicer.

Good first juicer, good for hard fruits and vegetables

Although this is my first juicer, I researched quite a few models--I bought this rather inexpensive model as I wasn't sure if I would get into the habit of juicing.The machine: It doesn't feel cheap. It seems to be built well enough. The juice containers are a bit small and awkward to get out without disassembling the unit, but not a big deal. As someone mentioned above there is some spillage when you remove the juice container.The opening to insert the fruits and veggies is pretty small, which is unfortunate because when you insert small pieces they are often fired right into the pulp container. It's best to cut the fruits and veggies into longer thin pieces to get the most out of this machine.It's pretty loud, so if that bothers you I would look for a quieter model.The juice: This machine really shines when juicing hard fruits and vegetables---carrots, apples, pineapple, etc. The pulp is pretty dry for apples and carrots especially.I wouldn't even bother with citrus fruits as the machine runs too fast and fires most of the flesh (and thus the juice!) into the pulp container. You have to push down really slowly if you want to get even a modest amount of juice from citrus fruits. It would really benefit having a lower speed (when I get a better model I'm going to make sure it has 2 speeds).---I am considering getting a proper citrus juicer to supplement this one (They're only $20 or so.Clean up: I don't have much reference for cleanup since this is my first juicer, but it's simple enough.I found that I really enjoy both the process of juicing and the juice itself, so ultimately I will upgrade to a better model. As a first time juicer this works quite well, but as I mentioned above you'll probably need to get a citrus juicer to supplement this machine.Value: For $30 this is well worth the money, and overall I'm happy with the purchase.

Exactly what I wanted

I've been wanting a juicer for a long time, but didn't want something huge in my kitchen. This juicer is perfect, starting with the price. It's smaller than all the other ones I have seen, easy to assemble and disassemble, easy to clean and to juice. All I do is cut everything is small pieces and the machine does all the work. It's amazing. It juices everything fast and the pulp comes out fairly dry. I disagree with the review that says the pulp has a lot of juice. Cleaning is easy. I just use warm water, don't even scrub (except the blade, which needs to be cleaned with a brush, but with running water, it takes me less than a minute to clean it).I have been drinking fruit and vegetable juices 2 or 3 times a day. I mix all kinds of stuff and the machine juices it all. Yesterday I made spinach-carrot-apple-grape-cucumber juice and it tasted SO good! And I don't even add water, just put some ice and it's delicious and super nutritious.Don't fool yourself with the price. This juicer doesn't take too much room, works great AND it's cheap! Let it guide you to a healthier life! You won't regret buying it.

Nutrifaster N450

Can anyone say for sure if this juicer is the one used by WholeFoods? It has the commercial power and size to run all day. Saw one and it is very well made and heavy. Seller said it is one of the best if not the best out there. Juice tasted amazing. I have a Blentec which is a very good blender but I am wanting to drink juice without pulp. It goes into the bloodstream quicker. I get a mild speed rush and sense of 'well being' with this type (centrifugal) of juice.My "5 star" review is related to the build quality, supreme taste, & amount of quickly-made juice. It also looks easy to break down and clean. There is no rating system for those who want to just inquire about a product, as I have not purchased the Nutrifaster N450 and cannot attest to it's longevity. But it looks like it will outlast me.
